Update Your Outdated Fur Coat With Restyling
Sometimes fur can look outdated or old fashioned, so you might be tempted to push them to the back of your closet. With help from Superior Furs & Leather, your beloved furs can easily be restyled to bring them up to date and have them modernized for today's fashions.
Fur is one of the only materials that can be entirely dismantled from one garment and restyled into an all-new garment. With 35 years of experience, our family and locally owned business combines fashion-forward consciousness and expert technical ability to add years of life to your furs.
Aside from simple alterations, you can opt to have your fur changed into a different style or converted into a collar, cuffs, and lining for a cashmere or other luxury fabric raincoat, cape, or a different kind of coat. We'll simply ask to see your old fur coat to assess its condition before we can begin restyling. If it is not in good condition, we will recommend not restyling as it could shred.
Some furriers do not recommend restyling a coat older than 15 years, but at Superior Furs, each fur is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If your fur has been well-maintained, it could very well be altered past this 15 year limit. We will recommend restyling options once the condition of your fur coat or garment has been assessed.
After you've made a decision on what you'd like to do with your fur, we'll take your measurements for your new, made-to-fit garment. We will then take apart your fur to reconstruct it into the new garment requested. The cost of restyling starts around $950.
Please note, restyling takes time - anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks. Don't wait for a big event or the last minute. Summer is the best time for a restyle as there is no rush to wear fur at that time and we are less busy during this season.

There is a wide variety of restyling options when it comes to fur garments. Some options include:

- Choice of fabrics (wool, microfiber, silk wool, gabardine, cashmere, camel hair, mohair and more)
Your restyle will depend on the amount of fur you have to work with. You might have enough fur to line a coat or just enough for a collar and cuffs.
